My great aunt passed away on Friday, and in addition to remembering those who have fallen in the service of our country, I am remembering her as well.
She was bright and cheerful, a little flamboyant, and happy in the heat of the desert, much like the Lantana pictured above.
My middle name is taken from hers (see also, my Father's naming convention) and I like to think we were a lot alike.
She was a "WIndow dresser" who created magical worlds in the shop windows to lure buyers in for a closer look. Her letters were always filled with adventures and her joy radiated through the phone lines. She always wanted to know how the kids were doing, what they were up to...
According to her caregiver, she passed peacefully, surrounded by Love. I would have expected nothing less.
Bon Voyage, dear Lynn. A great example of a life well lived!
