I did the third workout for Week One of the Couch to 5K program today and the Running portion felt GREAT! I wanted to run faster and farther, but I KNOW that will defeat the plan, so I walked at the prescribed intervals and then *YAY* Ran again when prompted. I stretched after the cool down and everything. Aren't you proud of me?
I also slept TEN hours last night. Couldn't quite figure out why it was LIGHT out when I got up....that hasn't happened in a very, VERY long time.
Clearly the sleep study program is working. I try to shut off all of the electronic devices at least an hour before bedtime, finish my exercising before late afternoon, and have cut WAY back on the caffeine. None after lunchtime. I am looking forward to adding the Yoga classes this summer after the next round of sleepovers at the Hospital. One of the other major changes I have made is to listen to Classical Music instead of News/Talk on NPR. I allow myself one news update during the day and find that it has reduced my stress/anxiety levels quite a bit. Easier to do when it is pledge drive time on our local station, it seemed a good time to wean myself off of the NEED to tune in at the top of every hour.
Today is Willie Mays 80th birthday. So many memories of the *say hey kid* as we sat in our seats at the old Candlestick Park, just off the first base line where Willie McCovey stood tall. I am proud to be a lifetime San Francisco Giants fan.
Knitting continues to grow, and hopefully this weekend I will solve the picture uploading issues so I can share....I will look longingly at all of the posts from those of you going to MDSW this weekend. sigh. Perhaps next year I will get to a few more festivals.
Blessings to you and yours for a beautiful Mother's Day weekend....
