I just got a THREE page letter from my Endocrinologist,

the gist of which was:

You have some weird autoimmune thing

we cannot identify and

we have no idea how to treat.

Attached is a referral back to Rheumatology.

Have a nice day.

So, I ordered the supplies to knit the new design by Helene Rush

that just popped up on KNITTY

because I am almost finished with my Girasole

and need something fiddly to really CONCENTRATE on.

In FARM news, the Basil has gone bonkers

and will need to be turned into

PESTO this week.

Mmmmmm......

Such a LOVELY Lightshow!

Thunder and lightning last night for HOURS.....so gorgeous!

Lots of rain everywhere except the FARM.

I watered the tomatoes just before dark as the lightshow flashed

in all directions around me.

The PEPPERS are doing really well

and the Basil is incredible

 

My doctor's appointment raised the possibility of a diagnosis that makes SO much sense...

genetic predisposition to a fairly rare (unless your gene pool has a deep end in the netherlands) condition that is triggered by an environmental trauma....

I am cautiously optimistic that this will be the answer to the Boybird's symptoms as well.

All the stuff on the web is scary, so I am not linking to that.

I prefer to rejoice in the KNOWING

and the possibility of mitigating treatment.

No MRI for me....

Did you know that the MRI is NOT to determine what is wrong with the patient,

but rather to JUSTIFY payment for surgery or injection?

heh.

No wonder I can't get a diagnosis from my Spine (or any other) Doctor.

I'm not interested in the surgical *option*,

nor in having a needle poked into my spinal cord to

inject corticosteroids....

so I can just *call him*

if I have any more problems...

(you know, beyond the excruciating pain and other non-covered

items.)

sigh.

Going to the gym and making my own endorphins is the only thing

that makes me feel better.

That and heirloom tomato sandwiches on freshly baked

sourdough bread

with mayo and basil.

Oh, and  KNITTING.

Pi, for dessert. ;)

Very Productive....

From deep in the tomato vine jungle

where I have been weeding and watering,

I bring you exciting news....the first heirloom tomato sighting of the season

The perfect fabric for BEE Happy farm was procured

and rather quickly was sewn up

(that's my new office....EXCITING, no?)

Now there is a privacy curtain in the bathroom.....

I spent the morning having more blood drawn at the Endocrinologist's office

and then my spine manipulated at the Physical Therapists office.

 

So much nicer to be out at the farm getting things DONE!

Looking forward to a weekend of knitting and catching up on paperwork.

 

Only have to work four hours on Saturday morning.

 

Sunday the Daughter bird and I are going to stock up on the things she needs for her apartment that she can't get within walking distance and needs help carrying.

Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue!

Mother Nature's fireworks in honor of Independence Day....

White....

and BLUE!

 

We've had such LOVELY weather today, fingers crossed for the fireworks display tonight at the stadium....

The BOYBIRD loves his fireworks, and they have all manner of live music beforehand, so I'd better get going. In the true spirit of Independence Day, Daughter bird decided she'd rather NOT attend the festivities, as she would rather see the new Johnny Depp movie....ahem.

Indeed.
