No Stitches South or MSWF for me this year.
No long drives, no standing for long periods on hard surfaces,
no walking on uneven surfaces or climbing stairs for a LEAST six weeks.
In the meantime, I have the newest, latest, greatest TENS device
here at home, and a prescription for more TENS therapy and ultrasound at PT
and THEN he wants to do an MRI after that.
sigh.
Those of you who have been reading a long time will remember that the TENS
device was pivotal to my complete recovery from the toxic neuropathy associated with the
black widow spider bite....so I'm a big fan of the alternative to steroids and painkillers and
more expensive tests.
This time it is my sacroiliac joint, injured in a fall,
that is causing all of the nerve pain and numbness in my legs and feet.
I can still go to work and knit of course,
and no surgery has been scheduled,
so all in all I'm delighted.
I celebrated EARTH Day by marveling at the gale force winds while the pups and I
were out for a walk...
wow. That's some POWERFUL force!
xox
I'm really glad you have therapy that is going to be helpful, but extremely bummed that I won't get to see you at Stitches. It was super windy here yesterday, and I'm looking forward to much warmer temps tomorrow. Take good care of yourself, and heal quickly!

Glad no surgery is being pushed for and that the mighty TENS has entered in to the fray once again. My wee machine certainly helps here and in one delightfully unexpected way to do with personal plumbing:0) not exactly fail safe but makes many activities less damp shall we say and as to pain relief for someone whose body reacts to almost everything else with bleeding it is a truly magical little box.
Take care, may patience and pace be yours for at least the next six weeks:0)
