A VERY good day....

I've always had good luck on friday the 13th.

Today, Bee Happy Farm was awarded a 911 address and the electricity

works in my Office!

woot!

Now I can start all of the paperwork...

The perfect way to spend a rainy, COLD weekend!

Have I mentioned....

how *much* I dislike Daylight Savings TIme?

I've had a rough week so far.

Two visits to the eye doctor, once with the contact lens company rep

in attendance...

Without going into all of the gorey details,

let's just say ONCE AGAIN we've decided I am not a candidate

for contact lenses.

I got my hopes up pretty high this time...

sigh.

PeeWee's blood tests came back and have confirmed that he has inoperable

hepatic shunt issues.

Special, expensive food, FOREVER. NO protein treats of ANY kind.

Discovered the hard way that the enzymatic dental treats are protein based.

He started seizing and vomiting bile,

just like before when he had to go to the World Class Vet facility.

Same test results, without the world class bill.

sigh.

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow to get a referral to a spine specialist

for the confirmed bone spurs in my right SI joint and the problems with lumbar

and thoracic vertebrae. Um, oh yeah and the arthritic symptoms.

My thyroid issues are getting more pronounced as well.

sigh.

Getting older is not for sissies, folks.

 

The GOOD news?

The boybird will be getting his new ipod touch tomorrow AND a refurbished PC

for his room with an internet connection so he will not have to bother staff with eleventy billion

repeats of his favorite YOUTUBE episodes.....

One of THOSE days....

It was gorgeous this morning, beautiful sunshine....

but everything kinda went downhill from there.

Everything I tried to do turned out badly.

Without going in to all of the details,

let's just say that I'll be glad to go to bed tonight

and start OVER tomorrow.

Spring is in the air!

It was SUCH a gorgeous day today!

The daffodils have re emerged from their frozen state and are blooming their little heads off!

Daughter bird and I went to the Public Library in the afternoon....I took my knitting and happily worked on my Prayer Shawl while she browsed the books.

I know we will still have some wintry weather, but I sure do LOVE this little taste of Spring!

Weekend Getaway....

to the new IKEA in Charlotte!

I went with a dear friend and fellow knitter....

she and I had SO much fun!

We stopped for a tour of Old Salem,

had some Moravian sugar cake

and an equally sweet time in the Queen City.

Oh, how I heart IKEA!

I stayed within my budget and only got the things on my short little list....

but LOTS of creative ideas!

Tomorrow promises to be tee shirt weather.

Daughter bird and i have a date to go to the Public Library!

Don't forget to change the clocks tonight...

SPRING, ahead!

It was so beautiful early this morning, like Narnia....

I went into to *town* to take the Daughter bird to the bank to make her deposits so she can pay her bills. We had Pizza for lunch and then went to the bookstore so she could stock up on Puzzle books.

 

A LOVELY day!

Winter Weather Warning....

oh for HEAVEN'S sakes...

They are predicting 2-4 inches of snow for tomorrow morning

and the masses have all headed out to stock up on provisions of

Milk and Bread.

Schools are announcing that they will be CLOSED

and the weather man interrupts every program with his pink and white

MAP of impending doom and disaster.

 

I have plenty of knitting.

 

Let.it.SNOW.

 

In technology news, my Kindle2 arrived, and I am absolutely SMITTEN.

I can effortlessly change the font to BIG

and READ.

Such elegant details.

I'm pretty sure the wireless whispernet will work just fine,

even with all that SNOW on the way...

Now to figure out how to email my knitting pattern to the Kindle,

so I can read THAT, too.
