The Boybird turned 24 yesterday...and was all smiles as he opened his presents
and scarfed down cheesy bread and pizza and birthday cake...
Today we will go to Borders and Best Buy with his sister so he can spend his Birthday money
and they can have some time together.
I plan to mark the *anniversary* of the nineeleven event
in a solemn, private way
this morning.
One of my dearest friends (she was Daughter bird's first preschool teacher!)
lost her sister today after a brave struggle with cancer.
I am so sad for her.
I want to celebrate her sister's life with a knitted *something*
that might bring her some comfort and joy.
Off to think...
Not to be outdone by Tropical Storm Hanna, Hurricane IKE, or Josephine,
The Disturbance known as Molly
destroyed a Habitat in minutes
leaving behind the twisted wreckage of what WAS a Denise needle tip
(look away if you are squeamish about teeth marks)
sigh.
I finished Chart B of Habitat while Daughter bird had her preliminary interview
at The Public Library:
It's all about the PROCESS...
one step at a time!
Here is the beginning of my first version of Habitat:
in Elizabeth Lavold's Silky Wool.
I already have plans for several more of these luscious hats!
Went to REI today and picked out my new Electra Townie bike...
should be built and ready by the weekend,
So.Excited!
I love my mountain bike, but the Vertigo/balance issues prevent me
from being able to ride it safely.
A great excuse, n'est pas?
First a good SOAK in the sink:
a RINSE to get rid of excess dye:
A FINAL RINSE and towel dry:
and now the last of the Summer Knits, is BLOCKING:
and I am delighted.
I am ready to clear the decks, put away all of the Summer Stuff and move into the Fall of this year.
Although I have decided not to go back to school, I DO want to stretch my creative muscles
and LEARN some new tricks.
Stay tuned, Danger Girl fans,
the best is yet to BEE.
