Saturday I got up EARLY with the pups
and was on the road to the Fiber Festival by 7AM....
My GPS didn't even know where the TOWN was, so I was pretty sure I was in for some
gorgeous rural scenery.
Oh, yeah.
Let's begin with the day old LAMBykins photo, shall we?
Shetland sheep...can we all say AWWWWWWWWWWWWW?!
Moving right along to the ALPACAS:
11 months old, black, unshorn.
Makes the sweetest wittle noises...
11 months old, red, shorn (sheared?) whatever, ADORABLE!
They let me pet them....sigh.
SO amazingly soft.
I did buy a little fiber
6 oz. of colored french angora with natural wool
for spinning.
The fiber fair took place at an historic battleground
so there were LOTS of period pieces on display
no photos allowed in the Museum, where there were AMAZING dioramas
(oh how i love dioramas.....) of local Civil War goings on...
but also lots of Really Tacky (IMHO) confederate flag
and postcard *memorabilia* for sale that said things like
*Your trailer park called, said their trash was missing!*
ewwwwwwwwww.
Got out of there, Quick like a bunny!
hippity hopped back to my little car
(strangely out of place amongst all of the Big Trucks)
and zipped on down the road.
Took the long way home through fields and farmlands....
Had lunch and walkies with the pups.
THEN I drove the OTHER way for an hour to meetup with some knitting friends
from ages ago and had a LOVELY time
meeting some new friends as well.
(Waving to Shelby....Hi Shelby!)
No camera at that event, but a big thank you
to Linda for hosting the gathering in her gorgeous home.
I'm going to come live in your art room if you aren't careful ;)
I know this has been a LONG post, but I just have to say that the people
I have met over the years of doing this blogging thing have made my life So
much the richer....THANK YOU!
Now, today promises to be another wonderful one...
My brother is on TeeVee from the pits at the ALMS race in Long Beach
(230 PST on ABC) so I'll be knitting socks and reminiscing about
the years at the long Beach Grand Prix.
Those were the days, my friend!
Hope your weekend was glorious as well!
Peace be with you.
xoxo
