lifelong knitter:

An extra day?

It's a blur around here as I get ready for the new puppy,
tie up all kinds of loose ends for tax paperwork,
update my resume for a very promising job opportunity
and try to take DEEP breaths
and knit a little bit.
I'm off to pick up the Daughter bird for her Spring break
(already? eeeeeeek!)

Conched out

I finished the knitalong of the Conch hat:

what a TREAT!

I really enjoyed the Unspun Icelandic
and got exactly the right sizing
using the four plies and size 11 needles.

I can check off one of my Spectrum projects, now.

I have to confess, though.........
Immediately after I took the picture,
I promptly frogged the entire thing
to get the unspun back into a two-ply state.
The whole time I was knitting with it,
I knew it was destined for another project.

The Conch hat is perfect if you live in a place
where it is VERY cold and snowy....
do give it a whirl
if you want to experience EZ's genius
and Meg's lovliness....
a FUN knit!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy HEARTS all around!

I'm finally getting over the VERTIGO
(fingers crossed)
and able to knit again.
The Boybird and I are going to Krispy Kreme
this afternoon to get heart shaped donuts
(with sprinkles!)
to hand out to all his Valentines....

Actually, this is the second time...
I hate to admit it, but the FIRST time
I couldn't get the *button* to post
and I hate following all the RULES,
so I just kinda let myself forget about it
(hides head in shame under knitting)

Maggi (we were first in line for the opening of the Yarn Lounge in Richmond and had a GREAT time at MSWF...she hosts the BEST SnB!)
Michelle (someday we'll meet in person, hardly seems possible that we only know each other through the Internets...)
Wendy (the very first knitblog I ever read, and still look forward to every time she pops up on my Bloglines feed!)
Rachael (she helped me with the setup of this blog and picked me and the daughter bird up at a train station at 3AM...now THAT made my day!)
