The Boybird talked ALL the way to the Mall
and back again
about the Snow Day
on Thursday.
I am still grinning.
MADLY.
Someone told me that their definition of LOVE
was their Mother walking with them
all night long while they were throwing up
and all manner of other things,
gently washing them and their clothes
and the sheets and the blankets and tucking them back into bed....
then full circle NOW they are taking the same Mother
to the bathroom...walking with her at night
in the hallways when she doesn't know where she is,
and cleaning her tenderly when she cannot
control her bodily functions.
Which got me ALL teary and choked up,
thinking about how much I LOVE
my birds. Unconditionally,
without regrets or reciprocity
during some of the most sleep-deprived
years of my life.
Now, I'm getting so much LOVE
back.
Listening to him chatter in the back seat about
*Snow Day yesterday, No Work, Mommy brought me
magazine and tapes and TODAY no snow day PIZZA
and breadsticks...Next week Thursday
Snow or Sunny?*
"Don't Know", was my reply.
*Check Weather on the COMPUTER!*
says He, grinning widely.
Oh.Yeah.
