I got some concerned emails
that did my heart SO much good...
many of you wondered whether,
you know, we had actually checked with the
people in question before setting them up on a date!
YES! YES! YES!
Part of the Mama discussion was how our birds
really WANT these normal (well, neurotypical, anyway) social experiences
but NEED help getting started
and establishing appropriate boundaries
and all of that...
but it just makes me so
HAPPY that you thought enough to ASK!
Bless you!
The Boybird and I went to Borders today.
He had printed out a 20% off coupon for a DVD
and picked out the Disney Classic PLUTO series.
Instead of heading for the main checkout, he turned
LEFT at the magazines and stood in line at
the CAFE checkout.
Chips and chocolate chip cookie
pretty much offset the discount,
but he was a VERY happy camper
and when we got back to his nest
I confessed the allowance
and his house manager GRINNED.
Apparently he didn't like the choice of snack
this afternoon and said *No Thank You,
Snack at BORDERS today*.
Choice making, check.
Delayed gratification, check.
Progress abounds.
