I am NOT a winner.
I'm still glad I signed up for nanowrimo, though.
I learned a LOT.
Writing everyday is a tremendous
pleasure.
One thousand words or even TWO
goes pretty quickly when your
characters begin to live really interesting lives.
and...
writing (for me anyway)
requires a clear mind
and relatively pain free fingers.
Which leads me nicely into
TODAY....my adventure with
the Hand Therapist begins!

Hand Therapy

I have an appointment to see the Hand Therapist
on Thursday morning.
I'm hoping he will prescribe KNITTING,
or reading or something fun!
Taking all of this painkiller
during the waking/working hours
is just NOT working.
If I was pain free then I could put up with
the dizzy woozy spaced out feelings...
but really,
by 11AM I am in the pain cycle again
and, well, bleh.

I'll keep you posted.

To put it mildly,
work sucked.
I was especially glad
to find THIS
in my mailbox!

Back in the swing of things!

We had a fabulous holiday.
The birds have made so much progress,
it is absolutely stunning.
We had a great time watching
*Sesame Street Old School*
which is a three dvd set of the
ORIGINAL episodes from 1969
and the early seventies.
Did you know that KNITTING
is featured in the First ever
Episode of Sesame Street?
Yep.
Introducing the concepts of
Over, Under, Around, and Through....
tee.hee.
We went to see the movie
HAPPY FEET
and even though it was Crowded
(sold out!) the Boybird did
wonderfully and happily munched popcorn
and clapped at the ending
which we all LOVED.
Highly recommended....
good music, fabulous animation
AND a thoughtful message.
Especially fabulous for those of us
who march to a different drummer!

Everyone is back in their own
Nests now,
snuggled into our own comfy
Routines...
Onward!

I woke up this morning
and began to count
my many
Abundant Blessings...
Thank you
for being
one of them!

We're about to
begin the
preparations
for the
FEAST.

Let's all hold hands
and pass
the Blessing....

Not the Prognosis I was hoping for...

I went to see the Immunologist
after work and before heading off to gather up
the Daughter Bird from College.
The fire ant antigen tests came back negative
(which is excellent because there would have been all
kinds of SHOTS involved if it had been positive....glad I didn't
know that or I would have worried a lot more!)
which means it was a neurotoxin of unknown
origin, but most likely a SPIDER.
I talked to him about the level of pain I am in
(mostly excruciating all.the.time.)
and he said that was to be expected with
Nerve Damage.
There is some chance this may be chronic
and permanent
but I am not focusing on that.
Either way, he upped my meds and added a next
level Pain medication to be taken four times a day
for severe pain due to neuropathy.
oh, and I can work MORE hours
starting Monday because I should be
so looped (excuse me, Pain Free)
that I won't really notice my arm at all,
prolly.
I have my Daughter Bird safely in my nest,
and plans are being hatched for all of the Baking
she intends to do beginning today,
and of course these guys:

To demonstrate the proper Extreme Napping Techniques.

This afternoon, after work,
We'll pick up the Boybird and begin
the giving of Thanks!

Gathering....

I'm going to get the Daughter bird
this afternoon
and then tomorrow
we'll go to the Boybird's nest
and get him,
then my nest ( and my heart) will be
FULL.
I'm looking forward to the
Holiday
and have SO much
to be THANKFUL for...

Leonid Meteor Shower....

I got up in the middle of the dark
to try and see the MAGIC...
but apparently I needed to be in Wales
or PEI or somewhere further NORTH
to be able to see MY Meteor debris field.
sigh.
I did get a little knitting done,
on a super secret project
for one of my neighbors....
with some help
from my
Able Assistants...

A dark and stormy day...

Yesterday started out with Thunder and Lightening at 4AM
followed by tornado watches and warnings,
gusty winds and pouring rain.
I wore my fancy new TARJAY boots
to work and stayed warm and dry...
The knitting lunch was fabulous
and then I conked out on the couch for
Two Hours before it was Boybird time.
He had a blast at Golden Corral
and grocery shopping after...
Totally excited about Thanksgiving
next week!
We have SO much to be thankful for,
the Blessing abound.

Was easily downloaded onto my Treo in less than a minute yesterday.
So much fun to be able to point my phone at something and then
BLOG right away :)
I can put my photos right into my albums
instead of having to wait for the sprintemail (zzzzzzzzzzzz)
Does my GeekyGirl heart good!
Yesterday was the anniversary of my Daddy's death, so my heart
NEEDED some GOOD!
Today is forecasted to be severe weatherwise....
but I have THESE from Target and a
date with the Boybird!
(plus, lunch with a Knitting friend...bonus!)
