Halloweeny

I love what my little Village does for Halloween...

There are intricately carved pumpkins all throughout the gorgeous gardens
and folk art mixed in as well...
Just.Fabulous.
I'm back at work, on extremely limited duty
and in much pain,
but the look on the clients faces
when I walked back into the house was
Absolutely Priceless.

I'm too tired to try and figure out why this picture keeps turning out sideways
even though I have *edited* it four times already....
so tilt your head, click to embiggen,
and enjoy the folk art giraffe peering over the hedge...

Now imagine it at NIGHT, all lit UP.
MAGIC.

sigh.

Just under the wire...

Here are my Socktoberfest socks....

on the left is Falling leaf lace from Knitty,
and on the right, Jaywalker from magknits,
finished with the *extra* hour gained by forgetting (as ALWAYS)
to set the clocks back.

Now it is on to NOROvember!

Friday already?

Goodness, time certainly flies when you are on the
*stooopid pills* as my friend refers to the neurontin.
It helps with the pain, but YEAH.
stoopid.
Which may or may NOT account for the fact
that I am now signed up for NanowriMo
or however you spell the
WriteANovelInaMonth dealie....
sigh.
We'll find out now
whether I am a real writer
or NOT, won't we?
I do have a plan and a PLOT
and I love me a good challenge....
let's just hope the old
brain cells are up to the task.
Yesterday with the Boybird was very sweet.
He had a fabulous time at the Fair and
went on and ON about the Ferris Wheel
and the fast rides and the Fries....
but then I gave him THIS and he
positively SKIPPED back to his nest to watch it!

Fall

I got *out* for a little while yesterday
and was just stunned at the beauty of the
Foliage this year.
After walking and looking and
gasping at the beautiful colors
I slowly began to realize...
wait, now, something I should have....
My Camera!
At the time it seemed like the most
Profound Thought,
like I had solved the cold fusion conundrum
or something....
heh.
Clearly my brain is NOT back to normal, yet.
I feel like Winnie Ther Pooh.
Think.Think. Think.
hmmmm.
Ah, yes.
Time for Something Sweet.

Sunny days....

I'm feeling a little sunnier...

slowly recovering some of my strength.
I actually swatched today,
which made my heart
just SING!

Incremental progress...

I had a good report at the doctor today.
My sweet neighbor had to drive me
as I was just ACHING all over...
but the good news is
NO KIDNEY DAMAGE.
I am so relieved.
I can go back to work next Monday
with limited restrictions
and my bottle of pain medication....
The specific antigen tests
will not be back for a few weeks,
but I am hopeful
that I will begin feeling
more like MYSELF
soon.
Perhaps as early as tomorrow
I can try
a *little* KNITTING!
Perhaps THEEEES one? heh.

Malaise

Here's how *tired* I am....
There has been Ben and Jerry's
New York Super Fudge Chunk
in my freezer for DAYS
and I cannot summon up
the energy
to even think about
eating it.
THAT, my friends, is
malaise.

sigh.

I've been officially diagnosed.
Serum sickness.
Which means I WILL get better.
As long as I rest....
