What was I saying about having my life back?
sheesh.
Took the poodles for a walk after work yesterday and
Carson screamed in pain and held up his back left leg,
refusing to walk on it.
Ordinarily I chalk this up to *drama poodleitis*,
give him an aspirin and wait a day to see how he is
doing before I call the vet,
but this time that little voice told me
to call RIGHT away.
It was after 6pm and the last appointment is at 7,
so she said to bring him right in.
In the forty five minute ride to the vet, the top of his foot turned
BLACK.
He did his usual snarl.snap.bite routine
and they had to wrestle him into a blanket just to look at
the foot.
When the vet palpated the area, blood spurted all over her face and
lab coat.
She's AMAZINGLY calm. and just said
"Oh, MAN, that's twice in two days!"
She said it was a poisonous something,
and asked me twice if I were SURE there wasn't a
SNAKE involved.
We were in the middle of the street,
and I'm pretty sure I would have seen a snake....
anyhow,
he's got a couple of hundred dollars worth of meds
and she said unless it is REALLY bad
she doesn't need to see him back for a recheck.
Not that I blame her.
He is SO bad when he gets anxious or is in pain.
sigh.
He's resting comfortably NOW though....
wish I could say the same for my OWN
self.
I hope I can drag myself through work today.
I have a Training Class on
How to take and enter data.
My goal is to stay AWAKE.
