The gorgeous knitting I am working on right now in that heavenly Debbie Bliss Cathay
is a test knit for the upcoming Big Book of Wendy Knits.
(I'm sure that isn't the working title, but I saw it in the comments and it just kinda lodged
in my brain....) and I am honored to be knitting this BEAUTY.
I took the sweater to Neighborhood Knitting group yesterday afternoon
and it was fondled within an inch of it's silky little life. Everybody needs a little
summer sweater like this around here when it gets so hot and steamy that you are
CONSTANTLY blasted by frigid air conditioning and/or sticking to hot vinyl seating....
This sweater pattern alone is worth whatever the price of the book may be.
I'm particularly in need of this pattern right now because my eyes
are giving me serious headaches again.
I can't SEE, even with my fancy schmancy
precision ground in Austria trifocals....
and so an easily remembered stitch pattern
in a luscious yarn is a godsend.
I'm on the waiting list for a second opinion
by a different surgeon. Faithful readers may remember that
the Corneal Specialist behind door number One has never had to
*redo* a surgical procedure and does not want to ruin his Perfect
Reputation. sigh.
The literature suggests that the return of scar tissue is not only
common, but expected in cases like mine.
Your prayers would be most welcome.
As ALWAYS.
Praying for your sight - that you may always see the beauty of life!

Ah, but we pray for you every night, dontcha know? I do hope there's a less egotistical expert out there for you, dearest. And I'll look forward to seeing this garment ~ but how are you really managing to STICK to the pattern?

OH CRAP. The Federal Grand Jury indicted an egomaniac ophthalmologist like that up here, although in his case it was performing surgery on people who didn't need it. http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/specialnews/silence/chase.htm
I hope you find a better one, and I'm sending good wishes your way. Glad you have something nice to knit on in the meantime. Mwah!

Ugh. Way too many medical (though not all) have an unhealthy "ruler of all" view of themselves. But they are your EYES and they deserve a few more opinions.
Reason aside, speedy healing thoughts to you. That sounds so hard.

Oh Greta I will keep you in my prayers as always. I've been dealing a lot with doctors lately and I definitely understand where you are coming from.
The sweater looks lovely.
