Third time appears to be the charm, no? I'm well into the third color change, and loving this updated version. Whenever I'm feeling a little unsure that this blobby thing will become a Shawl, I cruise the blogs and admire the before and after blocking pictures of all the Charlottes in the Sisterhood. I'm toying with the idea of a different edging of course, putting the cart before the horse as is my habit.
I'm knitting Lace with Merino, in August. Will Wonders never cease?
Looks great. Yes the pre-blocked bears no resemblance to the post-blocked as all who have gone before you can attest to. Beautiful colors, especially for late summer - reminds me of a sunset!

Looks great! Different colours from what I've seen, I like them.

Cake is waiting patiently for your visit. Charlotte looks marvelous! It's kind of magic how it suddenly goes from this scrunched up little nothing of a thing to LACE! You'll see.

Hi Greta, that is exactly the same spot where I am on my Charlotte! I ended up going to WEBS after all on Saturday and if you buy 6+ skeins of Koigu, they're each $8 so I of course had to get 6 and cast on immediately. With yarn barn and webs, I've spent way too much on yarn recently so I've sworn not to buy another skein in 2004!:(

I've just finished my Charlotte (how could I not knit a pattern with my name?)and opted for a different ending since I don't see myself as a fringe person. Instead of binding off the shawl and doing the crocheted loops as directed, I bound off by adding a narrow lace border knitted perpendicularly to the body of the shawl. I used Little Lace Cable from Barbara Walker for my border. I did have a sixth skein of Koigu which I used for this. It came out very well and I was able to pull "points" into the border when I blocked it.

OooOOooOOooOoo! She looks beautiful!
I have an e-mail in to the Threadbears for my own Charlotte fixins. I can only hope that mine will be as lovely as yours! I'm doing a warm-up with the flower basket shawl from the new IK. Bring on the lace! :)

How beautiful!! Can't wait to do another Charlotte, too. This one I'm keeping (away from everyone who could steal it!)

Dear all,
I'm just about a new granny and a new knitter too...
I've knitted a baby blanket in a miniature leaf lace pattern in white cotton. The sides and cast-on and cast-off edges look a bit plain or bare or abrupt or something.
I'm wondering if there's any way I can pick up stitches all around this squre blanket and knit some kind of border or edge.
Thank you so much if anyone can help.
