It reminds me of a tropical bird. Are you knitting yourself a parrot to go with your eyepatch?
I found myself in a toy store this weekend and looked in vain for a parrot to send you...alas...the closet I got was a pelican, and I'm pretty sure pirates never walked around with pelicans on their shoulders.
