I was going to delete yesterday's WHINEY post,
but I think I won't. It is important for me to remember
that I have those days and it is okay to be frustrated.
I prayed to know that I was in the right place:
That's a fabulous ALTIMETER at the base of the ST. Francis shrine.
Want a closer look?
Isn't that just the PERFECT gadget for a geeky girl like me?
As soon as I got to work, some of my more experienced
coworkers pointed out that this is a VERY steep learning curve
with lots of cognitive dissonance for somebody like me.
I appreciated it GREATLY.
Ten minutes later I was in the Supervisors SUPERvisors office
hearing a pep talk about being too hard on myself.
Which is EXACTLY right.
I passed the test and feel REALLY good
about being in Just the RIGHT place.
Maybe I'll go to Australia on VACATION someday instead ;)
Today I am Alexander.
I had a terrible, horrible, VERY bad day yesterday at work
and I don't want to go back.
I think I'll move to AUSTRALIA
It was mostly because I've not been
with the clients for three days,
but instead been
and hearing about ALL
of the terrible horrible very bad things
(and how painful they are likely to be)
that certainly WILL go wrong.
Of course I WILL go back,
but only because on Friday
(tomorrow is the big TEST to see if I've
Paid Attention and can regurgitate on cue...)
I'll be back (hopefully)
to the Real Work that needs
When I first started knitting,
I made all kinds of outfits and accessories
for my Barbie dolls.
I just loved being able to create my
own little WORLD.
Here's a little hint about who
I'm going to be knitting for NOW!
I'm searching for a doll sized Poodle....
I had kind of a rough day at work yesterday,
as two people called in sick, including the person
who was supposed to be training me....
I did okay, but felt helpless because I didn't know
what to do in a couple of situations for which I have certification
training NEXT WEEK and the heat index was up around
100 degrees....rough when you are doing Farm work!
The afternoon with the Boybird made it *all better*
as we had a great time at Bruegger's and he had a fabulous
new short haircut and looked SO handsome.
THEN I got home and found THESE in my Mailbox:
from my sweet blog buddy, Sara!
The timing could not have been more perfect,
and they are VERY useful little pocket books!
Daughter bird has been enjoying her Independence and spent the afternoon
at the Pool, where she reported that the ELDERLY people were very nice
We had a little talk about how maybe they wouldn't appreciate being categorized
in that way and she looked genuinely horrified at the suggestion.
*I'd NEVER hurt someone's feelings ON PURPOSE like that, Mom!*
and the temperature soars past 90 degrees (F).
I'm solar powered, so I am a Happy Camper,
but now I'm back to my yearly dilemma:
What To Knit
when the air fairly drips
I've got socks on the needles
and more sock yarn on the way...
but I'm thinking about something
actually the very first things
I ever knit....
Much Brainstorming around here,
details and hopefully some pictures
in the next post or two.
Back to the Drawing Board for me...
Took my TESTS yesterday to be certified for the first of many various and sundry things
I NEED to be certified in to actually be qualified to do the job I've been doing for more than
20 years. It is to GIGGLE, really, but you know me, if there are RULES, I'm there, with bells on.
(Seriously though, are there rules for too many commas in one sentence? ACK.)
In typical Perfectionista mode, I raced home to get the email that gave me my actual SCORES.
They do the congratulations you PASSED, print this out and give it to your supervisor thing
online, but I just had to know...
and.... yep. 100 percent correct.
The Stanley Cup is here, a HUGE parade at the RBC Center to welcome it....
and the crowd went WILD!
I was browsing through a very expensive Garden tome
whilst waiting for the daughter bird to finish in the Biography
aisle, and I was struck by a particularly spare garden with only a
towering Yucca surrounded by carefully chosen,
exquisitely expensive stones. AHA! Thought I, at last I am in Fashion!
Mine is SO towering, I had to take TWO pictures!
and the stones around here?
handtossed by the finest trained squirrels in the hemisphere,
You may resume your regular knitblog trolling now,
that is all.
