One of the great joys
for me is the
The choice of needle size,
the swatching of a new stitch pattern,
watching the colorway
into a coherent picture...
Just makes my neurons sing the
*Happy, HAPPY* song!
Hope your weekend is filled with
We have some GORGEOUS ribbons in the store
and I have some wonderful ones
in my stash....
So just as soon as I finish the MSWF knitting,
I'm going to do some summer designing!
It is 81 degrees today, but tomorrow is supposed
to be back down into the 60's....
so I'm still dressing in LAYERS.
AND....if six apart really does have the
comment spam catching thing down,
I'll bring the commenting feature back.
I *heart* six apart, and I know
they've been working on the
CAPTCHA thing for awhile....
keep your fingers crossed!
These are super SOFT and comfy...
a delight to knit on size 5US dpns
from the toe up to the hourglass heel to the STRETCHY
See the Pattern (and the Actual Sock!)
on to the next sample...
ACTUAL KNITTING content!
I'm so pleased with the way this shrug is coming out.
The yarn is positively yummy....
sort of reminds me of neopolitan ice cream...
"ICE CREAM? WHERE?" never mention ice cream during a photo shoot....sigh.
Here's a close up of the stitch pattern:
and MY favorite...
(Click on any of the pictures to make them REALLY big! ;)
Aren't these adorable?
The directions say that kept in an airtight container they'll last a WEEK.
The boybird was in charge of the EGG dyeing process...
and I was in charge of the KNITTING.
I will not be able to attend MSWF this year due to a scheduling conflict
with the Daughter bird's Moving Out Of The DORM duties,
but my KNITTING will be there!
I'm knitting samples and writing patterns for our dear MaryAnn
and all I can say is
Lovely, LOVELY yarn to knit with....
You'll have to take my word for it,
because today was a Very DARK and Stormy day,
not at all conducive to picture taking.
GOOD for the Garden, though!
KNITTING, tomorrow, I promise...
but I just could NOT resist showing you the
Fabulous job Daughter bird did
making the peeps and the marshmallows....
First you make a sugar syrup and blend it with the softened gelatin....
Then you pipe half of the mixture into the PEEPS mold.
The other half gets spread out on a rimmed baking sheet between TWO pieces of parchment paper.
Eight hours later you have PEEPS!
Cover them with SUGAR...
EXTREME Cuteness...and OH.SO.YUMMY!
The marshmallows take another 12 hours,
and the SECRET is to get the parchment paper WET so it peels right OFF...
